pomegranate in juice

Back to Portfolio

Continuing my experiments with making paint from close-to-home items, I let some pomegranate juice I got from the farmers’ market evaporate in a saucer on the counter for a few days. Then I mixed in some watercolor medium. The color wasn’t as concentrated as I had expected but nonetheless it was fun to paint with it. I used some Payne’s Grey watercolor paint to mix in for the shadows. Now, the problem is the painting remains sticky from the sugar I expect. I’ve let it dry overnight but it still is sticky. So I have scanned it to preserve it. I hope you enjoy it.
